There are a myriad of walking boots available for women which will ensure that you are extremely comfortable when you are out and about. But what about style? Many women don’t like to choose walking boots because they feel that they are heavy and unattractive. But these days there are many trendy women’s walking boots available which will give you both style and comfort.

For lots of women style is equally as important as comfort and for other women, style comes above all else. That is why manufacturers have realised that to make women’s walking boots look fashionable and appealing is crucial to sales. Women are more conscious about what their footwear looks like than men and it is plain to see now in stores as women’s walking boots have become more fashionable than ever. So if you want a pair of walking boots but have been putting off buying them as you feared they would look ugly, then look again because women’s walking boots have just entered the fashion stakes.

My first night in Park City, Utah I decided that I had to buy new snow boots to survive the Sundance Film Festival. It was snowing and I realized that none of the shoes I brought were going to keep my feet warm and dry. I walked up and down Main Street checking out a few different stores, but most didn’t have a large selection of snow boots. This is surprising being that it is January in a city known for skiing.

Finally, I found the Baffin store and within 15 minutes walked out with a new pair of boots.

Baffin Snogoose boot $89.99 at Zappos

My impulse purchase was influenced by the brand’s use of the word “extreme” – as in extreme weather – and pictures of people in the arctic wearing the boots.

On the walk back to my hotel, I saw this pair of Gravis boots, and I immediately regretted buying the less attractive Baffin boots.

Gravis Camelia boot $89 at Zappos

But after three days of wearing the boots for 16+ hours a day, I could not be happier with the Baffin boots! Granted, they aren’t as cute as the Gravis boots, but they are the most functional snow boots I could have imagined. The black is rather nondescript anyway. While other people walk around the snow, slush, and puddles, I walk right through everything in my path. My feet are always dry and incredibly warm. The boots are very comfortable too. The only shortcoming is the weight of each boot – they are rather heavy.

The best part is that I feel very surefooted when walking on icy street. My two Sundance goals were to see James Franco (done) and to not fall and break a bone. I feel that the Baffin boots were integral to the latter, but I did wish I was wearing cuter boots when I saw James Franco!

I really cannot wait for this crazy, hectic, over-the-top year to just finally end. It seems like so much has happened from Fashion week to a stress overload to the wardrobe frenzies and fabulous looks to the constant emails…ETC. Not that I don’t love it because you know that I totally do but sometimes it can be a tad bit overwhelming. To answer your lovely questions though, no; unfortunately I won’t be in NY this season for NY Fashion Week but will be next February in time for my birthday (yay!) and no, again; I have not disappeared but really, I’ll always be here fashionably holding your hand as we tackle the crazy world of reality and fashion together even though I might have more than enough crap going on in life, it really is the readers and the website which keeps me going and going and going. Speaking of which, isn’t it just a tad too boring right now with the subtle “coming in” of Spring trends for the Aussies who are reading this, and isn’t just a tad too “dull” for the gorgeous Iconic readers from the US? And for everyone else who I dearly love as well, isn’t it just about time to get rid of the neutral colours, chuck out the comfortable shoes and get rid of the Blair Waldorf bows and headbands and instead, welcome the new fashion season with a bit of sparkle?

I was a signature 90′s kid so I totally clearly remember the “trends” which existed during the reign of the Spice girls and Aqua etc. and how can I honestly forget those totally 90′s shoes like the square front and chunky square heel? Weirdly enough, I was just trying on my Mum’s old lost and found shoes of the 90′s collection just a few days ago setting my feet into a pair of vintage chunky Mary Jane Moschino heels complete with straps which weren’t too bad only I wasn’t too sure if I would actually wear it out and not just in front of my mirror. Oh well, if worse comes to worse and I have no heels to wear (hope this never happens), I can always flip on a pair of vintage 90′s heels. I mean, if it is good enough for Louboutin, it should be good enough for me…or not.

I went shopping just yesterday in search of the perfect Formal/cocktail dress without much luck. I have to say it has been pretty tedious to have an enormous amount of money in my Louis Vuitton wallet which I have spent months and months saving for the perfect dress when I still am yet to start filling up my spring wardrobe! It really is quite off-putting actually because as I cascade into the fashion boutiques and chainstores, all I want to do is just give myself an enormous shopping spree and just use all the money I have saved to update my wardrobe for the upcoming season but I can’t do that just in case I don’t have enough for my dress! Pretty ridiculous isn’t it? Ridiculous but realistic. Oh well, I went shopping yesterday and I tried on a few dresses here and there but I didn’t end up finding anything perfect but I did find a pair of shoes which I just had to have. Chunky but super amazing for the Spring/Summer season. The enormous wooden wedges I bought were from Sportsgirl and reduced from $150 to just $50! As if I didn’t have enough spare change for a pair of transeasonal wedges! You know what they say…fifty and fabulous.

Ps: If you want to see what they look like, the shoes are on the Sportsgirl website and are the “Catherine High Wedge” and are all SOLD OUT!

I have to admit that I absolutely loved the Chloe Fall/Winter 08 show. I did not mind the embellishments and the excessive chiffon dresses here and there. I didn’t even mind those crazy flat pointed ankle boots! That is, until it started spamming at Net-a-porter. I have never really taken a liking to short flat pointy shoes. I remember the last time I bought a pair of boots like that, they were on sale for $180 from $590 and I never actually wore them because when I did, I felt like I have bird’s feet. Like pointy flippers on, plus they did nothing for my legs which is still quite a shocker. Yes, I don’t know why I bought them at all but I do know that some things look best on the runway, and when it comes to the crazy flat-but-pointy Chloe boots, this is a piece which is harder to pull of than it looks. I totally (kind of) understand how guys must feel about Cockaroach killers (the shoes with the super flat pointed fronts). These should be reserved only for the brave…so all we can assume now is that Agyness Deyn may be rocking a pair soon…and wearing it well.
